Yes There is a common theme here and it is folks use whatever is easily available and what fits they're style of trapping Don't forget fish pellets bought at feed stores for feeding pond fish and although i never caught a mink using it I have seen when setting Dps in snow where mink have spent a lot of time checking out fish pellets mixed with liquid molasses no success probably cause its hard to catch a mink using dp's smile

You will need a preservative if you don't freeze your crawdad's or an extremely strong stomach

Here is a recipe I've used for years.
Don't remember the video I got it from. I'll look it up and post it later
! can jack mac use the oil
2 cans sardines use the oil
1tbsp sodium benzoate===preservative
1 oz glycerine
1 oz syrup ===like maple syrup

I mix it with a blender. All this is human food so mom probably won't be too mad.lol

If you use it immediately you can probably skip the benzoate and glycerine.
Salt can help keep it from freezing
If you are on coon or mink sign you don't need more than a tablespoon. smear it real good
good luck. keep us informed as to how you are doing

Raccoons and cornfields by Scott Welch
This was designed as a dog proof bait but works as any other bait..

Will.your parents let you plug.in a small freezer?. Here in WV they have em.for like 170 at walmart..if you saved for it it'd be big enough for your bait.

We use half an orange circus peanut an salmon.oil as a trail lure.

They work good and they're not messy or sticky.

We used to use fish off fallins...
