Squirrels are cutting the crap out of hickory nuts right now. I’ve killed 10 (our limit) the last 4 mornings in a row. I did kill 4 one morning cutting walnuts, all the rest have been on the hickory’s. They’ll start on pecans before the end of the month.

If someone smarter than me, which is pretty much most, can turn that top picture right side up I’d appreciate it!

I’ve killed 4 fox squirrels out of 40 this week.
That picture of the 10 one the side of the woodshed, there is a fox squirrel in there. He’s young and not brightly colored. I like them younguns!
Having trouble getting pictures to go on here. Throws some kinda code when I try.

He killed quite a few earlier in the season.
He’s turned into quite a fishing fanatic.
He and his dad are going with me in the morning.

They actually had a Squirrel Contest here last year. 2 man teams weigh in their 10 heaviest squirrels. Think 1st place took home like $750, lol.

Edited for Grays only…no fox squirrels.

We used to have a squirrel tournament every year.
Winner was the lightest full limit. The smaller and younger the better was always our motto lol.

Dang that's nice mess if tree rats.
My son and I try to get out at least once or twice every fall just for squirrels. Don't start here until mid September. Just something about sniping squirrels with the old 22. Like going back to my youth now days.
Thanks for sharing nice pictures.

I like squirrel meat. They sure are cute little buggers tho. But sometimes they sabotage my deer hunting. So stinking noisy
