Sold 4 goats today to some Africans. They asked me to cut the throats, I told them I would but they had to hold them while I did it, they declined and we shot them instead. Shot all 4 then they burnt the hair off with propane torch, they took their time doing this, at least an hour. After the hair was off they removed the hindquarters and gutted them into a tub, they save all the guts and make soup out of all if it including the intestines and stomach. They spent the next 4 hours cutting up the goats with a Machete into 4lb or so pieces and putting them in garbage bags. No ice or coolers were involved in this process, they're going to drive 90 Minutes home now with the meat in bags and guts in a tub.

Its 70 degrees out with flies around. I'm assuming they never eat anything that isn't thoroughly cooked.

I did tell them they could butcher them here but I assumed they would gut/skin and be on their way.

My wife said "never again".

I learned that through the experience of others and did not make the bad mistake you did. I've heard a lot of stories much worse than yours. Third world people are still third world people here. We have to many now and should not let a single one more in.

It sounds like you shot four goats and they did the butchering to me.

Are you under the impression the meat will be bad? How fast do you think animals in the high country are cooled off?

Yup, thanks to the chicken industry here in town, we have them everywhere. You can see them every week buying goats at the stock yard, also in town, then dragging the goat by a rope into their apartment. Fyi, the goat never walks back out! As a landlord, would you rent to these people.... oh, but you can't discriminate! That being said, the white people on meth and welfare here are too lazy to work a chicken factory so I can't blame the industry...

Trash your goals and plans for life. Just wing it and you'll never be let down!

It's the fact they left the guts in the animal for probably 90 mins then saved the guts to eat that have been out for 6+ hours.

They put all the meat in cheap garbage bags.

Cheap garbage bags are less likely go be scented. They at least had that going for them...

I'm not really complaining, I found it entertaining more than anything. It did get long, they were here for over 5 hours and I didn't really feel like I could go do anything and leave them totally unsupervised.

Ever see videos of someone using a machete or cleaver and doing an quick and excellent job at cutting up an animal? This was not like that at all...

I know one guy who idiotically let the somalis burn the hair off a goat he sold them under the overhang, leading into his barn, because it was raining. His goats wouldn't go in to eat for weeks. He's lucky they didn't burn his barn down.

If you consider your time to have value, like most people do, it really cut into your hourly profit margin. They'll be begging you from now on to let them do it again. They are not ashamed of theft either, if they know you're gone.

if you have to stand their for 5 hours , you're not getting paid for that

if you had a space away from your barns and shop and house they could work maybe if they paid something to use that space or paid enough for the goat in the first place.

interesting they wouldn't cut the throats themselves.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Fridays are my "off day". Normally I do estimates all day but I had done them earlier this week while the crew did a job they didn't need me on. I did one emergency job this morning then the Goats, I mostly sat in the house and watched them out the window. If they come back to steal stuff they will stick out like a sore thumb.

At one point my extremely friendly lab snuck out the door without me noticing, I heard a bunch of screaming and they were huddling together yelling at the dog. If you want to keep them away I think most any large dog will do it.

I had them do it in the driveway. I wasn't taking any chances around my buildings with a bunch of Africans and a propane torch. Plus I have a large window I can see the driveway from.

Putting warm meat in a plastic bag is a terrible thing to do. Can’t spoil meat any faster than this.

The key is to sterilize it with a propane torch for an hour first with the guts still in I think...
