Just keep your job and run as many traps that you can in the off time-even if its just 3 sets.

He already got bored checking empty traps this summer, trapping illegally
What's he gonna do when it's raining cats and dogs outside
I don't see it ending well

I keep telling myself I'm not going to respond to the kid anymore, but he's a trainwreck and you can't not watch....I think he forgets what he's said before, thus can't keep his stories straight, but we remember and can call him on it.
He's had good advice from everyone, too bad it's not what he wants to hear.

Find a job with health insurance, social security contributions, and pension benefits. When you retire, start trapping as a hobby.

But you may want to finish at least Jr. High first.

He did say his dad has an atv....so a longline may only be a farm or 2 down the road.

I say do it. Quit your job at 13 to “longline” worthless fur that you don’t know how to trap or put up.

I say it’s a great learning opportunity.

You’ll either figure it out or you won’t. Some folks learn by the advice and wisdom of others, some learn by getting their butts kicked.

Good luck kid, I hope the best for you.

$40 a day. Will settle for $35 a day! Hahaha… doesn’t want to miss out on barn yard games. Wants more time after work, but wants to trap full time. Hahaha

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Gives me an idea:

OP,

Sharpen up your crayon, write up a draft research proposal outlining your plan to document discrimination against transgendered raccoons in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and submit said grant proposal to USFWS, NIH, CDC, DOE, etc.

Millions will roll in and you won't have to walk anywhere or do anything!

No… no one has forgotten. Wasn’t allowed to ride it cuz he goes way too fast. Then was gonna buy a new one for $699 off of some discount website. Hope the young Amish feller he’s hired didn’t quit his job on account of all the upcoming skinning.

Don’t listen to’em kid! Go ahead a turn in your 2 week notice and then start scouting now for the upcoming season. By the time season comes in you should have enough critters that you’ll make more on just two trap checks than you would in a month. See if they have a Youth Trapping Season, that way you can get an early start. Remember the Nike commercial…Just Do It!!
