Eating at least one BLT every day now. Whose bacon do you prefer?

I buy Walmart brand thick slice... I usually eat BET... Bacon, Eggs & Tomatoes. Can't seem to find good leaf lettuce in the store around here.

As a matter of fact, I was just thinking about that for supper...

The 3 pack from Costco hasn't been too bad, a little salty if that matters to you, otherwise whatever is on sale. Had some Hatfield brand on sale once and it was pretty good but like most brands you have to shuffle through them to find a decent one

I get it from our local butcher shop Prime Time Meat.


I think he gets it from the Amish country.

Preference wise home cured, Kunzler or JF Martin, but I haven't had a bacon yet that I didn't like.

I prefer thick cut over thin sliced and don't like it salty either.

I'm more picky about the tomato. I prefer thick cut bacon. My favorite is locally made bacon from the Piers, MN meat locker. We also get the store brand, thick sliced bacon from Fresh Thyme grocery here. It was on sale for $2.99/# the other day, so we have about 20# of that to eat.

We make our own. I get a big slab of side meat at the butcher shop....my son brines it and smokes it. I got where I don't like any other bacon.

Also, if folks have never had fresh, uncurled pork belly, you're missing out. Years ago, we'd go to Quebec every summer. We would take a whole side of pork belly meat. Every fried meal...eggs, fish, potatoes etc, started with a couple pieces of side meat to get the skillet lubed.

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of fresh pork belly. I, much prefer smoked, cured bacon.

Same here.I smoke a lot of my own bacon. but if I have to buy,,F.Martin thick cut is as close to my own as I have found.

In the summer I grow my own tomatoes. I grow mostly heritage Giant Yellow... Almost as sweet as a peach. I had a couple last year that were right at 2 pounds.

Here is my BET sandwich I had for supper with a jug of Chocolate milk to rinse it down.

The wife got some from a local shop that was thick cut with coarse ground black pepper. I think that made the best BLT I've ever had.

In South Central Pa., it can be either Kunzler or J. F. Martin.

French Lake Butcher Shop - either Chipotle/Raspberry or the Hungarian bacon. Best I ever had !

but if your making the bacon for the BLT I'll be over with the tomatoe and lettuce and mayo , making the bacon takes all the time.
