First, is the timeline of the earth & universe. The bible states that genisis is 4004 b.c.. That means everything is only 6000+ years old? NO WAY
Second, the bible is clear that no life is on other planets or throughout the universe. Something as vast as the universe would have the same physics & building blocks of life as earth (and probably even more), but no life? NO WAY
Your thoughts?
TILL THAT DAY.....

Your thoughts? I studied the Bible for years but have since become agnostic or maybe even atheist. Regarding your 1st concern - that depends on we chose to believe each creative day was only a 24 hour period. Day in Hebrew can be interpreted as an era. If we look at it that way, we can stretch way way back in history. Your 2nd concern - well....the burden of proof isn't on the Bible. Until we find intelligent life on another planet independent of earthly habitation it would be correct. With that being said.....I'm not entirely sure that the Bible says there's no other life on other planets.

Their time tables were different back then. Wasn't Moses 600 or 800 years old. In all the translations, it must've started off at 60 or 80 years old. It's like that game in elementary school where one person whispers something in the next persons ear and by the time it gets to the last guy it's completely changed....lol I'll bet it's just a matter of time before they find some kind of old crustations in the rocks on Mars where the oceans used to be.

The bible does not state that or even imply that. Bishop Usher, in the 1600's, stated that the earth was created on Octobet 23 4004. Ridiculous.
The only thing that the bible says about when the universe was created is; "In the beginning". And no one knows when that was.

But the Bishop will write his version of the Holy Bible and some will believe it.

The only people who care are those looking for a reason not to believe and those wanting to prove those that do believe wrong. lol
I’m gambling that an explanation of it ain’t gonna be asked at the gate.

The bible does not state either of those 2 things. As to your first point, the actual age of the universe put forward biblically can be hypothesized through exegetical review of the scriptures, but not pinpointed with any degree of accuracy in my opinion. As far as currently accepted geologic timelines, there are flaws in the data there including an evolving understanding of the limitations of radio-carbon dating methodologies. I also cannot think of any statements in scripture that deny the existence of life elsewhere in the universe. I am admittedly no scholar, but I would think it is more accurate to say that any consideration of such things is omitted rather than saying it is specifically and emphatically denied. I tend to agree with Hobbie... not sure either of these questions will be on the final exam.
Just happy to be here.

The book of Matthew gives a geneology from Abraham to Jesus in 1:1-17, and says that there were 42 generations from Abraham to Jesus. Luke 3:23-38 gives a geneology backwards from Jesus to Adam. One of two things must be true.......... 1. The genealogies and the creation account in genesis are correct, and Adam was the first man. We can play around with what those folk's ages (some of which are listed in the bible) to get an age of how long humans have been around, but there were only 77 generations of humans (by my count) between the first human on earth and Jesus, about 2000 years ago. 2. Either the genealogies are wrong, or the creation story is wrong and Adam wasn't the first human. But in any case, some part of the Bible is wrong.
I don't think it matters which I believe, as far as my salvation is concerned.
And I'm pretty sure aliens exist, despite the fermi paradox.

Your thoughts? Just a question... Why do you not think the earth is only 6000 years old? I want real proof too... Not saying your wrong just wondering...

Actually the young earth theory is based upon the ages of the patriarchs.

I find it interesting that people believe we've put space craft on Mars.
