Have gone to a few carbs a day the last few months. Maybe 20 sometimes none and still walke 2.5 miles a day fast.

Weight averages 165 -167 depending on water retention which is a prob at times. Was dizzy this morning before walk so i came inside and test blood sugar @105,blood pressure perfect...so i went ahead with walk. I think its the sinus allergies. Anyhow,my point is its become a way of life just like in Asia. God gives me another day. grin

Good for you!.
I've been on a low carb diet for a few weeks now, I've lost some weight but not a lot, I don't think I'm in constant ketosis, but as long as I drop a pound or so a week, it's all good.

I've been on a low carb diet for over 2 years. So far I've dropped 111 pounds. Still got a bit to go.

That is dedication! I’ve tried it before but I can only last a few months.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but I'll repeat it here.

I started a low carb diet back in December I went down from close to 190 to 170 pounds today (my weight 50 years ago). But, a huge unintended positive side effect is that it cured my acid reflux issues.

I had been taking Omeprazol, had to sleep on my back with my bed inclined, watch what I ate, etc..

I haven't had one instance of acid reflux (heart-burn) since probably early January. It's really a relief.

I cut out bread (wheat), potatoes, rice, and most other carbs and sugars. I still drink maybe 3 beers a week, and have the occasional sweet. If I am a guest somewhere and am served something I have crossed off my list, I will just take a small portion, I don't make a big deal about it on those occasions.

I will tell you though, a low carb diet is more expensive. Carbs are cheap, that's why so many lower income Americans are so obese.

I've been eating carnivore for about 18 months. I wouldn't even think about eating carbs again. Down 80 lbs.

Last year between Jan and July I cut the carbs and lost 50 pounds in 6 months. After losing 33 pounds I started getting light headed, my blood pressure was down to 98/67. so I stopped taking my blood pressure meds. In August I found a sarcoma tumor on my right thigh. I sort of lost focus on low carbs and have regained 35 pounds and am back on blood pressure meds. Eating/Not eating carbs makes a real difference. Cancer free after my 3rd 3 month checkup last week so it is time to get back on the no carb routine.

Not in the long run. Your health and hospital bills will negate the savings. Being overweight can cost a person.

Glad to see your still on the wagon. A low carb diet can make you feel sluggish, ketosis is starvation so you may get dizzy if your exercising or very active. I had to have some carbs in the winter choppping wood and ice and dealing with the cold I was tired all the time.

I am retired in the Philippines now and have all these wonderful vegetables and fish to choose from but I have a weakness for fruit and it’s all amazing here and hard to pass up it’s so cheap. I am walking a lot and exercising every day so I can eat some fruit and still maintain 175 lbs.
For those that want to get started on the road to good health. Simple give up bread rice potatoes and sugar and your well on your way to losing weight no exercise needed, of course it speeds things up if you do.

I would recommend Dr Ken Berry on YouTube for the details of eating healthy. He is carnivore but talks low carb mostly.
PS don’t forget to eat your salt and cholesterol eggs as much as you want it’s healthy for you. Your doctor is wrong.
