I've been on a low carb diet for over 2 years. So far I've dropped 111 pounds. Still got a bit to go.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but I'll repeat it here.
I started a low carb diet back in December I went down from close to 190 to 170 pounds today (my weight 50 years ago). But, a huge unintended positive side effect is that it cured my acid reflux issues.
I had been taking Omeprazol, had to sleep on my back with my bed inclined, watch what I ate, etc..
I haven't had one instance of acid reflux (heart-burn) since probably early January. It's really a relief.
I cut out bread (wheat), potatoes, rice, and most other carbs and sugars. I still drink maybe 3 beers a week, and have the occasional sweet. If I am a guest somewhere and am served something I have crossed off my list, I will just take a small portion, I don't make a big deal about it on those occasions.

I will tell you though, a low carb diet is more expensive. Carbs are cheap, that's why so many lower income Americans are so obese. True...eating healthy cost more. Not in the long run. Your health and hospital bills will negate the savings. Being overweight can cost a person.
