What’s your experience with these tube type systems like the Clemson pond leveler? The beaver is supposed to eventually give up and move on.

The RM I’ve trapped for is experimenting with this idea, but I heard on a pod cast that the beaver will find the current and plug the end of the pipe anyway. Sounds like there’s a bit of expenses installing it properly too.

Shakey, around here the beaver either plug it up after several tries and/or move downstream away from the device and cause issues there. It is unfair for the downstream landowners to take on that burden in my eyes but.... that is just my opinion. Beaver management is the answer.

I installed one, it worked for a while, there is maintenance to them. So it’s not an install and be done. You also have to have enough drop on the downward side for them to not be able to plug it up. Where we installed it the people downstream didn’t care they lived out of state and the property was of no use, rough land and the river was just past them.

The place I put that they flood out a church parking lot, it does help but far from perfect. A lot of people involved in the decision on what to try and we charged a bunch.

Beaver deciver's as they are called come in many shapes & forms, but not a permanent fix by a long shot, they still have to be maintained depending on Beaver activity. Removal of the Beaver seems best.

they have there place,
the collection area should always be under water and elbowed up and out for head pressure....
A maintenance contract pays for a lot of fuel........

Looks like a ton of work for a half arsed fix. Down or up stream at this RM frequently means a different area along the drain or ditch.
Seems way cheaper to trap them, at least for the one municipality around here. The public works guy at the RM I trap in says he made his own to try out. The other RMs just don’t pay enough for even the locals to bother.
