This proposal is a prime example of “give them cake”.

Most people only see “free” money not comprehending this money comes from taxes.

Intelligent people will see this will only drive the prices of houses even higher. Last i saw wages are the worst ever considering the cpi.

So let's say I am selling a house and I find out this is a first time home buyer.

I would think those people who got their student loans erased would be exempt from this government handout. After all, there should be plenty of room in a budget now for a mortgage payment.

The fine print people didn't see in 2008, was that was a loan,expected to be paid back in 15 years.

A lot of people made a lot of money then. houses and stocks among other things really went on sale. Plan accordingly

Sadly, if this happens, more houses will eventually be owned by corporate entities that will drive the prices up even further.
