Pat,
Nice wild Brook Trout. I’m gearing up for late September Adirondack remote pond Brook trout when the water cools down. Hope to catch some in spawning colors.
Going to hit some of the lakes and ponds I fished last spring.

Looked like Tug Hill Brook Trout, you are lucky to still find some wild trout water that the Tug Hill beaver have not ruined.

Dug a bunch of those little worms out of the old manure pile, they sure did like em. Tough to get them little buggers on a hook.

I was gonna mention that was a funny looking fly rod you was sportin. smile
I never did get what the hubbub is about fly fishing. How to you even cook them? Like a microscopic crab boil? How do you know when to set the hook? Only flies I know of that you can tell when they bite is the ones that bit me.
Fly fishing to me make about as much sense as golfing.
Do you want to go out and beat the water to death with a floating fly line only to be refused over and over again, or bring a can-o-worms and limit out right away.
Do you want to use equipment ill-suited for the task of hitting a ball only to chase miss-hit golf balls all over tarnation? Golfers have to be the angriest people I have ever encountered.
Show me how I am wrong.
