Me my wife and son just got home from john grahams coyote days

To say we enjoyed ourselves is a understatement. That was the finest event i have ever attended in my entire career from the demos to the banquet we had a memorable time
Alot of time money and thaught went into this event and it was a well oiled machine
The people we met were very kind humble and good. You dont see this at many conventions anymore in my opinion. Thank you to the grahams and all behind the scenes in putting this on
I enjoyed the demos very much all proffessional and to the point.
Our little boy was worn out each night and everyone watched out for him
Me and my family are very happy up north and if any of you get the chance go to
Coyote days you will see why

My phone was dead most of the event so i was not able to take pictures

There i said it....

Had a great time. Always enjoy visiting and catching up with friends across the country.

Thanks To John, Nicole, their family and all the volunteers for again putting together the best convention in the country.

Anyone who hasn't attended is missing out.

See ya next year.

Great event and very educational for us.
I posted a few pics on John's Coyote Days thread.
We couldn't stay for the banquet, wish we could of.
Folks in Lusk were nice and friendly.

The amount of knowledge was impressive, by demos and by trappers there willing to share.

I always tremendously enjoy Coyote Dayz! Told John that he needed to change the name to that spelling, because we are all dazed by the love of trapping coyotes! He just grinned! Was a great get together, as always. Thanks to John and Nicole, and all their help!

It was my second year there and it is by far the best event for trapping you can go to. Just knowledgeable trappers passing on information.

I wish you would have told me who you were! So many t-man members don’t pass on that tidbit of info. Always love getting to place a face with the t-man handle!

I had planned to go this year and got crippled up with a ruptured disc. Too hard to get around with a cane right now. Hope to see you all next year.

Ditto ten times.

I was blown away that a single family (albeit with lots of help) could put on event that rivals any state or regional event I've ever been to. The demo line up was outstanding. Information was definitely top shelf stuff -- it read like a "Who's Who" of first rate trappers: Phil Brown, Boone Liane, John Graham, John Barnum (aka Bufflolobo), Allan Olson (who is also a Hall of Fame bull fighter), and on and on. I took a ton of pictures but only have time for a few here.

John Barnum's demo was one of the highlights for me. I've always admired his cats and his put up so I knew I was going to learn a lot, and I wasn't disappointed. I've already started re-thinking my sets and how to better trap edges because of his demo.

Another guy I really wanted to meet was Boone Liane. One of those no-nonsense guys I could listen to all day. I added a couple of coyote trapping tricks to the bag because of his demo -- and added another dozen or so because of my conversations with him.

Brandy James from Oregon did an outstanding job on a bear-lion trapping-snaring demo. Fascinating stuff and he knows cats really well.
[Linked Image]

I know a lot of guys missed Bill Ilchik (who was absent due to a medical issue) but his demo partner Joel Blakeslee did a great job. Joel has forgotten more than I'll ever know so whenever he talks trapping I try to shut up and absorb.

[Linked Image]

In addition to the non-stop demos, there was an all you can eat walleye & crawdad fish fry on Friday night courtesy of Tom Pindall (aka Cattrax) and Steve49er (I never got his full name, I just knew him as Steve from "Minnesooooooooota") and others. I would have driven from Vegas to Lusk just for the fresh walleye. It was outstanding.

[Linked Image]

If you weren't spoiled by the fresh walleye on Friday, the Saturday night steak dinner was to die for. It was honestly one of the most tender and tasty steaks I'd ever experienced. There was fur fashion show afterwards with a host of pretty ladies wearing a variety of home grown fur. We also had a huge raffle with proceeds going to a scholarship fund.

Just when I thought the night couldn't get any better, John Graham lined up all the demo-givers and gave us all an outstanding belt buckle custom made by Montana Silversmiths.

[Linked Image]

How do you match that?

I really have to hand it to John and his entire family and crew. I'm sure John and Nicole and their family stressed for months to pull off something like that but I'm telling you, no detail was overlooked, there were no politics or drama (other than the beating a certain lawyer took during the Friday night round table), and everything was first class from start to finish. In all the excitement and trying to keep up with all the events, I only got one picture of John Graham but fortunately I got his best side.

[Linked Image]

I've always admired John's abilities as a trapper and a speaker, but his organization skills are obviously top notch. Thanks to the Grahams, their family and crew for a weekend that I will remember with fondness for the rest of my life.

Lazarus you and all the demo guys were outstanding !!

Lee you gave my husband sharpening tips on your knife and he was really appreciative of that.
I was watching someone's demo while you gave instructions.

Otis and his wife sold all of his boards I believe, happy to get some.

One thing I definitely learned, don't go out and get a dog to learn how to coyote decoy, lol !!!!!

The cat trappers were my highlight, just in awe of their experience.

I’ll agree with you Lazuras on John Barnums demo. It was top notch information. And for a lawyer, yours was pretty good! The best thing about coyote days is the fact that nearly all the demos are from guys sharing decades of experience, and not trying to sell stuff, priceless! It’s a unique getaway with some great fellowship!

Miss South Dakota Rodeo 2024 and 2023 added flavor to the convention. Very beautiful young ladies who also participated in the event. Other little things that added to the convention was such as Percy (I hope I have his first name correct) from Wyoming Mountain Curs breeding brought four of his pups to view. Great looking pups. The Saturday evening banquet and fur fashion show is a great way to end the event.

Agreed.
I never saw the pups. I don't have the need for one right now, but I would loved to have made some new contacts for the future. Oh well, I'll have to go back again next year!

Lazarus you only thought you were eating walleye. I tell everyone that so they don't roll their noses up . It was a mixture of fish from several states

It was a heck of a great time. People loosened up their pocketbooks at the banquet, hopefully it made the weekend a success.

Speaking of lawyers, one kept saying he never wins. Seemed to me he's pretty lucky to me

Great seeing old friends and making new. Seen a couple guys whom I haven't seen in 10 to 15 years .Ladies and gents, let's do it again next year.

How did you get back to Minnesoooooooooota so fast? Obviously I wasn't the only one who "flew"" home.

I didn't make it this year but have been there a couple of times in the past. As I said earlier one can't help but learn something new while there. Even away from the demos and talking to others, one can't help but pick up some useful tips. Gives a person something to think about on the long ride home.

It's not that far. I'm working in North Dakota so it was only 7 hours for me. Rolled into the house about 4:30. Daughter wanted to run the enchanted highway, that was out of the way some. She probably t home about 10 pm.

Also a big shout to the Graham family for putting this on. I can't imagine the amount of work it takes to pull it off. I think this is the seventh year I've been there, could be 8. I've attended them all with my daughter. She looks forward to it almost as much as I do.
