I have 'em!!
Have 6 all metal ones and lots of metal sides with plastic bottoms. Got them with cottage cheese returns from grocery stores we used for mink feed.

For a big boy like me the all metal ones make great step stools.

The antique metal ones are collectible if it has an obsolete dairy on a tag.They actually can sell for a bit of money if they are desirable.

I have a few around here...bought them at a local salvage yard.

Wow! Who knew. Guess I should go sew those mattresses tags back on, just in case.

Probably have about 20 milk crates.
Local convenience store Manager says milk company delivers crates every week but only picks them up once a month or so. They get stack all over the place and are in the way. Told me, take what you want! They're not inventoried by buyer or seller to the store.
Couldn't imagine a cop pinching someone for a "hot" milk crates.
I keep traps and other things in them and stack em up. Very convenient. I also have one strapped on the back of the 4 wheeler.
Guess I'm living on the edge with these ill gotten gains.

You guys are like the homeless and grocery carts around here. Stealing milk crates ! Might have to find a new crowd to hang with.

Occasionally, I’d go to a local grocery store to pick up milk for the food bank. Usually six crates, with half gallons. I told the store manager I would return the crates. He said don’t bother. I ended up with about 30 of them.

I never bought one and I also didn’t know that was an option. Where to get one I have no clue. I know there’s an orange one in the garage probably left over from Chuckie’s stepdad. My grandpap always had a few laying around. I used to turn them over and use them as a seat and my pap would stoke up the pot bellied stove and we would cook on the top of it.
But yes, useful for many things!

I have a stockpile of about 30 or so, I use them for my generator Propane BBQ tank storage, makes them very stable and stacks well, and much easier to handle.

I like them to store traps.

I've gotten many milk crates with traps I've bought at conventions.

I sometimes fine milk creates at Yard Sales.
I use the 6 gallon milk creates around here for different things.

Was in one of the bigger towns to get something or another and there was a milk crate at every intersection. The panhandlers were using them as seats or whatever. I may of acquired a few.

when I was a kid the passenger seats in my grandpas vans were all milk/juice crates

he had a juice delivery business lots of bars , restaurants and a few homes , glass returnable jugs

dad didn't own a truck till later , because he could go borrow a van any time he needed for the cost of filling it up.

the passenger seat was out of every van. floors were plywood so the crates slid better and grandpa was not a believer in bulk heads

you could stack more crates if you ran them all the way up you apparently just drove careful

he retired when I was maybe 6-8 and sold the business Dad bought a van when I was 8 and couldn't borrow one any time he wanted
I got a bunch of crates from grandpas garage when he passed

The ones I got have been purchased but not for the crates but for the merchandise in them. Used to do antique motorcycle swap meets and often you would see parts piled in them. Buy the parts and get a free crate. Sell or use the parts and keep the crate.

the last crate I bought was 20 for the traps and he wanted 3 more for the crate it all worked out I grabbed a bunch of other stuff but as well.
