Deep south Georgia??

Actually it’s probably long ways from you. Just way closer than me. Little over hour out of Atlanta. Have shown up for four nights in row. It’s my friends camera but he’s up here at moment and I’m in middle of years honey extraction so they are safe. Seems they show up for few days in row normally but then won’t be any for 6-8 weeks. I know guy within mile of there traps them so I’d venture a guess that could be why

Hogs are all over the Peach State.

It’s interesting to me as we don’t have them but buddy swears at them. Says they destroy every food plot he has in and the deer become less plentiful.

Can't plant any deer plot with hogs around. Can't even disk up a plot to prepare to plant.....they'll come to that fresh dirt and take over. Root it so bad that you'll about turn the tractor over...lol

Swamp how often do you get pictures or see bears in your area ?

Depends on where my cameras are. If they're on deer corn or a feeder, it's common. If cameras are on a deer trail or scrape, I rarely get a pic. I see their tracks regularly from late spring to early winter.

It's always seasonal....like in other areas. Late summer and fall here is when they shift over into the river bottoms from the vast piney flatwoods swamp area that lies to the east of me. It's a food source thing....hunters putting out deer corn, filling deer feeders, and thousands of acres of live oak acorns along the sandy river bottom....all at once in early fall.

If the palmetto bushes in the flatwoods make berries, we don't see many bears over along the river as the berries ripen in early fall. The flatwoods area covers several counties in southeast Ga & northeast Fl and extends to and includes the Okefenokee Swamp (which is a 700 sq mile NWR and is the core of our bear population down here.

Yeah, y’all keep them things over there on your side of the State!! It’s bad enough one roams through every other year, lol!
As far as the hogs, I guess I know where are pigs went, lol. I did get a few pics on the dove field last night about 0130 or so, but I was sleeping. We’re burning tomorrow so that’ll run them off from there for a while. I’ve noticed they don’t like fresh burns. Not saying that’s scientific or anything, just what I’ve noticed at our place over the years. Now once things green up again they’ll get back in those areas.
But, the good news is I’ll have a field or fields to do some calling in. Coyotes do like burns.

For sure. Those hog pics are on a lease that's about 100 miles north of my home. Dont get up there much when it's hot weather...but that's about to change with bow season approaching....but, then I'll be after a mature buck and not wanting to shoot a stinkin' hog in a good buck spot....but I likely will arrow a couple or three.

Maybe even shoot a few with the thermal scope & .300BO.

Been hunting that property three years......we've killed only 21 hogs (3 of us).....

Is that Turner Co?

Hogs are in Turner County.

Bears are in Echols County.
