Make a late payment to that coop and see if they charge you a late fee!

No, I am of the opinion that everyone should pay. No way I am opting to pay more.
Ain’t asking for anyone to pay my way through life, or shopping for anything.

To the best of my knowledge our electric co-op never asked if I wanted to roundup, they just do it. Maybe it was voted on at one of the board meetings, I don't know.

I have a question, does the company that “rounds you up” send the charity a big check at the end of the month and then take the deduction at the end of the year for the donations?

Depends on what charity they are collecting for.

No. I tell them I'd prefer to round down if not too inconvenient.

I have never had any of the myriad of businesses and government bureaucrats, that beg me, round up for charity and never will. Even the Ohio.of Motor Vehicles begs me for money for the Presidential Fund and the blind. It's all bull crap.

I really don't know. I assumed it was going for a program within the company that helped people with their electric bill. I do know awhile back they was giving away led bulbs if you would bring them your old one, I don't know who was picking up that tab. I think they had a insulation thing and a big water heater discount too. I have no idea where that money was being funded from.

I remember several years ago they was preaching conserving energy and insulating to the hilt. Then two years later that give us a big rate increase because they were not using enough electricity to get a discount from their supplier. So I guess saving electricity we just cut our own throats, well at least cut our own cash reserves. But we was helping Gretta when she was just a toddler and look at her now!

The only time I round up is when I order from Midway. That is only to the nearest dollar and goes to the NRA.
I know they are not what they used to be, but if my 50 cents here and there does any good, so be it.
Maybe I bought Wayne a new necktie over the years.
