When my dad tore a strip off my uncle after he almost drove us all off a bridge, he says “Don’t tell me how to drive! I’ve been driving a combine for over 40 years!” Uncle died about 15 years ago. He blew through a school bus stop sign and got T boned by a tandem dump truck a few hundred yards up the road.

My kids drive my truck and.cars and have been a few years. Normally just on the farm or down the road from one field to another ornon backroads one.farm to the next. They are now 11 and 14. They have been driving 4 wheelers, side by sides and trackers starting around 4 so a.car or truck is no big deal.
As far as owning it under 16 thats.wrong I had my first truck at 14. . They can drive a tractor and implement or loaded hay wagon down the.road for miles with zero legal issues and I see no difference or more danger with a truck on the same route. Big difference between a sxs or 4 wheeler, verses a car or truck in traffic conditions. Eric Yes there is a difference but you seem to miss the point. They learned vehicles controls on those starting a 4 were driving cars and truck by 7 and 8. They can drive a tractor down the road pulling a trailer with a tone or more of hay and not a cop in the world can say a thing. I have no problems with them driving a car or truck down the road on the same routes. My kids by 11 are better drivers with more experience and common sence than 90% of 16 and 17 year olds and that's is a fact. Kids can get their pilots license years before theybcan druve and fly a plane across the country alone also. But I guess you think age is more important than experience and are would be more comfortable with that 16 year old that's first time behind any vehicles was 6 weeks ago driving next to you?

When a 14yr old gets his pilots licence, it’s because he got drive for his passion. And flying is way safer than driving…haha.

In the USA you must be 16 to solo and can't receive your license until 17. You can begin flight training sooner than16 though I think each state is different white. I know in Nebraska kids 14 years old can get a school permit if they live outside of town, unless that’s changed. I had one at 14 and all three of my kids had them at 14-15. Not sure if NTO would qualify.

I could use another truck, dang road salt. Try and keep up. He is getting a tractor….or was that a combine. I better go back and reread this thread. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn’t go as fast as his Dads 4-wheeler that he got banned from using for going too fast.

Rocker panels and cab corners are overrated. Any inspections in your state ? Stuff like that ...don't fly around here

Since he no longer wants to trap any raccoons and he gets all his dog-proof traps sold, buying a pickup will be easy.

I've seen some doozies when I was pulling wrenches. Just had the rockers and corners replaced on my 2015 GMC. Could see a few rust spots on the outside. Body shop said only thing holding them together was the factory chip seal. This new salt brine crap they use on the roads is 10x worse for rusting vehicles. And melts snow 10x slower than rock salt.
