I want pepsi. When it drops below 170 I want to buy. Tell me why I shouldn't.

I have only looked at the chart and by that it looks like 150 to 165 has been the “bottom” for the last few years, but if I knew what to do I wouldn’t have corn in a bin.

Because Pepsi sucks. I am a Coke guy.

Soda is but a small part of pepsico, that what makes it attractive...the diversity of products under the Pepsico umbrella. Gatorade, fritos, Lays, Aquafina...and the list goes on. Its almost like owing a mutual fund within a single stock.

I remember a guy say about 2 years ago during the last low " when birk b dips to 280 again I'm buying. That didn't work out well for him

My late great uncle did very well buying coke.

I will say it is on my list of things that I might buy.

Not sure to be honest. I think it's a good company with a good future. Plus it's a dividend stock. I'll just re-invest that.

Well there is nothing wrong with those reasons.

I have had an alarm set at 158 for the last ten months in PEP. Might have to wait a bit longer for that to materialize.
I also like KO but at this point PEP is about 16% cheaper than KO on a P/E basis.
Midland also makes some good points about PEP being more than just a beverage stock.

KO is up about 18% the past 12 months while PEP is down 3% over the same time period.

I'm sort of doubtful about how much upside is left in either one of them at this level.
I do own BRK B so I have exposure to KO through that

Might also consider what impact.......if any.......the drug Ozempic will have on both of those stocks. I think it has already impacted PEP because of all their snack food items.
On the other hand......... IF the Fed does start dropping rates..........that should drive income oriented investors towards dividend stocks. I think that is why KO has seen such a rally in the last few weeks

I have Pepsi in several of my mutual funds. We bought some McDonalds in 1995 that has done very well.

Yes sir ! MCD became a monster in the mid 1980's. It did real well up until the pandemic caused some weakness.
