Hey guys I have an older gentleman who told me he has some Tomcat glue traps out with a green glue on them and he said the mice are having parties on the glue like it is not there. Do you guys have any idea what the best glue traps would be? I thought Tomcat’s were pretty good but I have no idea. Thanks, Bill

Some glue traps have a transparent plastic sheet covering the glue, when shipped. This covering must be removed from the glue before use. I don't know if this is your problem.

Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button).

We use Eaton in Tin Cats and CatchMaster for general monitoring. We haven’t had an issue with either one.

I've had them pull out of the glue traps as well, snap traps are the only way to go in my opinion

Thanks for the input fellas. That is a good thing to point out Ron, I’ve had mental farts like that before. He did remove the film, glue just was not holding them for some reason.

Thanks EBL I’ll see if I can pick some up for him and see how that works. I just picked up some rat strength TomCat glue traps for him, figured they might be a little stickier.

Wistrapper I am with you, the old wood snap traps are all I use. The older gentlemen likes the ease of glue traps which I can understand.

Thanks again, I appreciate the help.

Usually, glue on those traps use vegetable oil as a solvent. It may have dried up a bit, so you might try a very light coat on the glue surface to "sticky" it up a bit.

I’d be tempted to try a tin cat with some chocolate chips inside. When I melted chocolate chips and spread a couple on a snapp trap trigger, I couldn’t keep them off the hardened chocolate.

I had four traps licked clean of the cheese the first night. Licked clean of peanut butter the second night. Melted chips and spread on the trigger and caught 4 in an hour and the other four the next morning.

Thanks BigBob, I will remember that.

Thanks MTHunter, that is slick. I will have to give that a go.
