Any tournament pool players on here? If so, favorite table, size, cues, etc. ?

… 50 cent bar room regulation … and a semi straight que stick that’ll take chalk

Insert profound nonsense here

Savell, used to be a Carson's Casino (?), pool hall in Dallas. CJ Wiley was the owner. Good $$$$+ hustling place. ;-)

I had a McDermott years ago. I liked playing on a 10 footer.

10 x 5 were the tables and it was 14.1 that was the game in the 30's > 50's before the 4.5 x 9.

Used to play years ago bar tables and my 16OZ viking 11 MM tip.

We snuck a full size pool table into a large storage room on the 2nd floor of an old mill building where I once worked...the main office was in a separate building

We had a tournament set up and would play at lunch time . This went on for weeks , a buddy and I were the big winners .....60 bucks each .

We went down to the local tavern and slapped some money on the table . We were gonna clean house .

Two barely standing drunk a__ injuns schooled us ....lol

The end of my pool hustle laugh

It didn't need to be straight, just heavy. I always shot a 21 ounce cue. I used to shoot pool at least 3 times a week and now I haven't played in at least 10 years, probably longer.

I have nothing clever to put here.

More of a hustler style player myself. I have walked up for the next game, go over to the rack of bar cues and sight down all of the sticks looking for the most crooked one on the rack. I then rolled it on the table to demonstrate to my opponent just how awfully bowed it was, then run the table on him.
One tip to success with a crooked stick is that it never gets selected by others which guarantees that it has a perfect tip on it.
The other tip is to make sure that it is just bowed and not twisted.
After that, all you need to do to have success with it is to keep the bow at the top. Your stroke will stay online. It will change how you make contact with the ball to make the correct spin that you want for whatever type English you're going after since the tip will be in a downward angle.
You might want to bring a hand with you just in case your opponent doesn't have a sense of humor.
I like 9 foot tables. They tend to separate the boys from the men.

Pretty much. Army day rooms and backwoods bars. More like twenty since I frequented those late night establishments.
