good shoes , thick wool socks , shoes on right away in the morning and stretching regular all help with plantar faciatus

I feel it more just forward of the heal

I got the cortozone shot ,I didn't feel like that did a lot for me

time , good shoes , regular stretching , and not trying to walk around the house barefoot in the morning , shoes with arch support very shortly after waking up.

my mom struggled with this for a very long time , it seemed to get better for her when she stopped trying to wear fashion shoes around 50

she conceded and just wore dressy but practical shoes to her job , she was an executive secretary to number of vice presidents at a WI based chemicals company so there was a definite expectation of dress code.

it took me a while to not be cheap and think I could get a little more time out of a pair of shoes and just buy a new pair early and switch to them at the first sign of foot or back pain.

I had severe knee pain years ago. Had mri done and nothing wrong. Found out I over pronate when I walk. That caused the knee pain. Dr told me to go to to a podiatrist and have custom orthotics made. Pain went away. When your feet are not right, everything else can get misaligned. Fix your feet and everything can align better and work with less or no pain. Not saying it will work for you, but it worked for me. Today I buy motion control or stability running shoes from Asics. Arch is built in so no need for the orthotics. If I get a work boot or neutral shoe, I have to put the orthotics in for the arch support. I can tell if I don't have them in within a couple days. Back and knees with start to hurt.

Crocs for 1 hour a week = knee problems for me. Lace up boots and good socks feel awesome. Foot pain could be the start of neuropathy too? I have that and make it almost go away by putting cayenne pepper on the bottoms of my feet and sleeping with it there for a night. Feel feel much better for a few days.

A touch of plantar fasciaitis here. It is basically bruised and injured tendons and connective tissue. Starts small but if corrective treatment isn't immediately taken it gets worse. Worse as in each step is shooting pain in the heel and unable to put weight on the foot.

You've got to get out of the shoes that initially caused the injury or adjust them to provide proper support.

I keep arch support insoles in my boots. Once cleared, I find that as much barefoot as I can take helps keep the tendons stretched and exercised. Barefoot type shoes as silly as it seems do help.

Had a couple bouts of plathntar fasciitis. Finally started stretching a lot, mostly pulling up on my toes as far as possible. This fixed it.

i just got diagnosed with that. i'm getting custom shoes and inserts. cortisone shots also. have had heel spurs before, surgery to remove them. not fun.

I got cortisone shots for it and they were by far the most painful shot I have taken. Help for about a week then it came back

Did the shot, then surgery on one heal, planter fascitis, use custom doctor prescribed orthopedics, all good.

Google full length insoles. Many companies make them for all size and shape feet. Also low or high arch, make sure they have a reasonable heel cup.

Or, go to AliMed , search for Poron 4000 full length insoles. Relatively inexpensive and work pretty well. Benn using them for about 30 years. I also have custom orthotics (2 pair) if you don't mind spending $200-400 plus dollars.

If you have a tennis ball while standing you can step down putting pressure on the middle of your foot and roll the ball around you should hear some crunching sound, helps loosen up the tissue, it always resolves my foot pain after about a week

Look at HOKA brand tennis shoes / boots. Most comfortable and has best cushion. I have had planter facietis and worn inserts for years. These shoes are so cushioned, no inserts are needed.

If you have insurance get your self to a decent podiatrist. I had issues years ago and got an appointment with a podiatrist. Told me when I came to bring my every day shoes and my running shoe. Not new ones but one I had worn for a while.
The doctor watched me walking, looked at the wear pattern on the bottom of my shoe. Then made quick set plaster cast of my feet holding each foot in the position she wanted. Those cast were sent out to a lab for set of custom insoles. When they were ready I went back with a new pair of shoe and had them fitted. My insurance paid for the first pair and they were $125 at that time which was a lot. My foot and leg pain was gone in about an week no meds. So I bite the bullet went back got a pair made for my work boots and my running shoes. Doctor did make some adjustments to the ones I have for my ruining shoes so they have more flex. I also used them in my skates.
That was years ago and I still use the same insoles. I used to be able to send them back to the lab once a year for new top liners. That company is no longer around. So like many things I own I figured out how to replace the top pad myself when needed.
Anyways think of it like getting the wheel alignment done on your truck or car. You want the best tec you can get for that. When I first went to the doctor and she looked at my shoes. She showed me heels were scuffed off and soles worn to the inside.. I still wear out shoes but the soles are worn even now.
And yes shoes break down and need replacing. But they definitely wear out faster and beat you up if you're walking out of whack.

No regrets here with see a specialist.

Mac

needle big enough to get from one side of your foot to the other

Me " hey Doc is my big toes supposed to be on fire!!?"

Doc , "ahh I am probably running into a bunch of nerves with the needle , it should feel better in a few minutes when my steroid lidocaine mix starts working"

same idea as the frozen water bottle , but without the cold to help numb it

I have plantar fascitis. Inserts in your regular shoes helps. Or, you can buy Vionic shoes, but they are spendy. They have the inserts built in. I have a couple pair and they really help.

I had this a few months ago, specifically posterior tibial tendonitis, and it was actually pretty unpleasant. My feet felt bruised, even though there were no bruises. I went to a specialist at dallasfootanklesurgeon in Dallas, had surgery, and they recommended some orthotics to support the arches of my feet. After a few weeks of using them, I started to feel much better.

I’ve included the link for anyone who needs help with their feet.
