Past few minutes weather going downhill fast. Been raining since yesterday morning. Quail cages anchored down and covered the best I could do so now we pray. Everything around house locked down, generator on standby. So now we wait. Gotta feeling ill not be able to post updates once power out and I'm sure it's gonna go out. I'll be running on 4 wheeler every hour or so to check on my quail and crawfish pond for the next 24 hours.
Later guys.
Forgot mention of rabbits. Everything flooded back on my property and there's hundreds of rabbits just staying out in the rain on any patch of high ground they can find.

Stay safe again Bud!

Do you still have your boat?

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Be safe Bud. I understand the prep work for hurricanes. I hope all, human and animal alike, weather the storm ok.

The fire ants can all drown....

Hope those fire ants get washed out to feed the shrimp.

Unfortunately they "float" in big masses. Guess they're constantly fighting to be the top ant.

KB64, yes I know this, unfortunately. I would carry a can of spray and do 'em all in every time I saw them like that. I knew I couldn't get 'em all but I sure put a dent in them at times .

I know Bud cant do that around his crayfish areas, or some others, but I wasn't in those sensitive zones and the water was flooded with everything from houses, fields, crops, so I had at least some satisfaction while working.

Ranches all around me would wage constant war, eliminating whole colonies in their pastures. After years , there were areas that were fire ant free.

Like killing invasive weeds .

I lived on the N.C. Outer Banks for 15 years. My lot elevation was 2.8 feet. Prep work for a hurricane is the same whether it hits or turns away. No fun. I feel your pain. We had about 200 crab pots to move, plus nets and boats, as well as securing a dockside seafood market that often flooded. MUD! GRASS! STINKING DEAD STUFF. HEAT and no AC. Frozen food to save. It is a pain for sure not to mention the loss of income.

Praying that you come out OK.

Good luck, these fall time hurricanes starting to get worse. They end up coming this way.

This looks to be one of the fast movers so let's hope it gets gone quickly.
