Can't seem to find any two man tree stands with the steel mesh seats anymore.
It's all gone to material mesh

Squirrels eat them up here and what they make them out of dry rots in three years. Anyone spray them with something that keeps squirrels away or keeps them from dry rotting

Anyone know who still makes or sells one with the old metal style mesh seat? Would like to go to a brick and mortar store to buy one.

I feel the pain- we run a lot of two man stands for bow- If you look for the new ones with the cross support, you can mount treated plywood for the seats. Mesh seats last a year by us and red the squirrels destroy them.

Duhnams has couple. I have 1 hawk Denali 2 nan that is 8 years old and not rotted. You can’t leave any tree stand out year round without shortening it life. I put mine up in late September and down January with weather permitting. I have 3 ladder stands that are over 20 years old. Other than some rusty bolts look almost new

I think you can get a rubberized spray in a can. You could possibly try that?

I’ve never seen a 2 man stand with mesh. Of course all mine are bought at Walmart after the season goes out and they’re $79 each, lol. All are the steel mesh. I just carry a cushion to sit on.

Im nervous to even say this, afraid of jinxing myself, but ive never had a problem with squirrels or coons eating any of my fabric mesh seats. I have plenty of red squirrels in the area. I run exclusively Millenium ladder stands because they are comfortable enough for all day sits...which seem to get harder with age. Maybe Millenium seats just taste bad...! smile

If you have a local quarry or sand & gravel processing plant, go ask if they have any used conveyor belt. They probably have a pile of it that they will let you take what you want. I've put it on 2 of my stands, one loc-on and a ladder. It doesn't rot, squirrels don't chew it, weather doesn't effect it. More comfortable than plywood and actually warm on your butt.

A few years ago I had the same issue when I climbed up my tree. It was a single stand and the squirrels had chewed off the nylon straps and I had no seat. I brought up my rope - a section of 550 cord and wrapped it about 15 times back and forth over frame where seat was. That 550 cord seat has not lasted us about 6 more years........very comfortable and not too expensive as a replacement seat. Probably not idea but it was a simple fix that morning and has held up better than expected.

Turtle look at the big denali 1.5. It is designed for large frame hunters. You ever sit in one you won't ever look back. Zero gravity seats are WAY more comfortable than solid steel mesh. Never seen a squirrel chew on one. Only thing is if windy and fridget temps bring a cushion. Cold air moving around you does make a difference.
