Some states require that deer are seen from outside the vehicle.

I do not, but I live in a rural area. I’ve never really seen an outward attitude towards hunting. I do try to wash all of the blood off of the tailgate or back bumper before I park it back at work. Messed up once and had a few folks a little put off by it.

In my area if someone has a tissy about an dead animal, they are not from around here They will adapt or learn to keep their mouths shut very quickly I don't cut slack to those kinds or they will want more Like ending all hunting and trapping
Give an inch and they will take a mile

Went back the next day to drag my elk carcass away from the view of the ATV trail that it dropped by along with the gut pile. Can’t see much of a deer in the back of the newer trucks anyway so no.

I've never hid an animal I've killed while hunting or trapping, not when transporting it in my truck.
I do hide catches when walking back to the truck when it's parked along a public road and a vehicle comes along. I usually drop the fox or foxes I'm carrying and keep walking until they pass then go back for them. One hot spot was along a road that got a good amount of traffic. We started taking a large garbage bag to put dispatched foxes in to hide them on the hundred yard walk back to the truck. I'd rather have people curious about what's in the bag than for them to know I'm killing fox back there. That just opens the door to possible trouble.
I've also hid deer that were killed early in the day. Killed them, field-dressed them and drug them out to the truck. Then covered them over with leaves and went back to hunting. Don't need any dirt bags stealing my meat.
Once they are in the truck and I'm driving they don't get hid. I don't usually go to public places while driving home from hunting or trapping but I have stopped for gas quite a few times with a half-dozen fox or a deer in the bed.
Eh...wot?
