Did someone say squirrel!?!?!

Packed and ready for tomorrow morning's hunt with The Boy, my trapping partner and the dogs! I'm so pumped I don't care if we get 1 or 15, the off season is too long and I just love watching and listening to the dogs work. Going to hit the woods a half hr after open and hunt till 10 or so then The Boy has to shower and get to his gig setting up for a local wrestling production at noon, then the partner and I will head across the county to run the dogs and do some scouting for trapping season in the afternoon.

Anybody else chasing small game tomorrow?

I'll be out after bow deer. I always wait too long to take does, so if it's brown, it's down in the chippewa metro subunit tomorrow....

Good luck this morning ChippewaTrapper get that new truck muddy and bloody. Just don't get it stuck.

Actually maybe do get it stuck, a young man learns much about himself when he is up to the frame in mud and alone. It won't be fun but you'll know yourself alot better afterwards.

I'm just 4-5 blocks off the river can hear the kids popping at ducks this morning. Youth duck hunt this weekend. I'm heading back to my camper this morning to sit over bear bait this evening. Maybe with bow hunters and small game hunters. Something will get moved around. Not looking good otherwise as all bears have gone nocturnal.

I wish Trap Setter and The Boy a great day today! That is quite a pack you have there! The look in their eyes says it all!

The only thing I will be chasing this morning is watching my older Grandson's Flag Football game. Then I start building my new Mud Skipper Surface Drive for my Herter's skiff.

I hope you are successful today.
I was going to hit the blind this morning for geese and then stroll in the hardwoods but slept in.
Talking with my buddy about heading out tomorrow with his Cur pups and the .410s.

Had a good morning. The dogs ran hard the first hour and just blew past everything but settled down and worked the woods pretty good. Got my first ever blond squirrel treed by my female (Southern) Belle. She sure was proud.

Found a few on the dogs but all dead we spray with horse insect killer works wonders. Did find one deer tick on me none on The Boy.

Picked up one more gray and two more reds this afternoon. The pups were completely spent, been a while since they've run that much. Timber couldn't get out of the truck had to carry him in the house lol.

I sure miss my squirrel dog, me and the boy went the other day no squirrels just spiderwebs, a squirrel seed ticks. Needs to cool off a tad bit more in my opinion and losing some leaves would be nice.

spray your cloths on the line with the permethrin you will be unlikely to even find any ticks on you

https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/country-vet-1-qt-13-3-permethrin-concentrate/0000000069070

the 13.3% concentrate is a ounce to a gallon for the spray for your cloths , so about a dollar a gallon to treat your cloths

you can use it on the dogs also ,it is similar to the horse spray
