Had a quick question on if ground muskrat bait would work for mink holes and boxes

Yes. Some guys even just quarter or halve the rat for bait. taint or fresh it'll work for you

Muskrat is a fair bait for mink.
Depending on where you make your sets before freeze up it will also catch rats.
No need to grind it up,just chop in half.

All the above. I cut my baits (muskrat included) into pieces & freeze fresh, put into ziplocks, & thaw as needed

I’ve had good luck here with both chopped rat parts and chopped carp. A squirt of straight Shellfish oil is also good.
Pocket sets and boxes both for these baits. Also a good mink gland lure doesn’t hurt especially for males.

You might give beaver liver a try

A good sized chunk of beaver meat is one of the best cold weather baits for mink and all predators for that matter.

Half of a small bluegill and a spritz of mink urine works for me…
