Can anyone point out a major design flaw with this trap?
I had a pull out because of it.

Are the levers hitting the sides of the pan?

Yes. I was checking traps last year and one of these had the levers half cocked and the pan was fully depressed. I am going through all of them and grinding the pan to a dog bone shape. So the pan can bottom out on the frame with the levers fully engaged.

I will not disclose the brand name, my intent is not brand bashing. It is a dogless #2. The hinge point of the jaws have been filed so they open and close smoothly with no rough spots. It's been soaked in vinegar, rinsed and is now ready for dye and wax

Im not sure others would see it as brand bashing as much as they would a courtesy for those that may want to correct the problem if they own the same brand traps..?

Looks like a duke number 2 judging by the jaws. Modified two dozen for a guy and quite a few would do that with the pan and levers when fired.

Yep, about half of my duke #2s would do that, they all got the pan narrowed down a bit.

I like big b_++$, but not big pans.

Those jaws are closed enough that you only lost a toe catch, but a loss none the same.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Those long, spring pins will cause you grief at some point also.

I have Bridger and Duke. I'm at work right now, so can't confirm which it is, but something to correct if you have this issue. The jaws are offset, mandatory in my state, so it was likely not a toe catch, especially considering the critter was able to have the pan completely depressed and have the levers pinch on it. I was chasing a grey fox which I eventually connected with. Quite possibly what escaped.

I noticed that a couple years ago while pulling the set. Mines Bridger #3 dogless.

The Bridger dogless would do that.

At least the early runs would. I had a dozen of the early early made ones that were horrible for it.

Probably the most overrated trap out there.

I just picked up a few dozen new Bridger #3 dogless from tman sponsor and the pan has plenty of clearance from the levers. Maybe someone noticed and corrected the issue.
