No, Carlos marketed the Coon Dagger and unless I'm mistaken he sued the Z trap manufacturer for patent infringement.

i dont know how any mfgs are making traps at this current price point unless they still had stockpiles of metal before covid hit.

But what I'm wondering is what is now status of all these patents etc? Who now owns them? Can they now be copied and nobody cares? And also wondering if these traps were built by one guy ( example.....Carlis) did knowledge of how he did passed when he did? Same might be the case with traps like BMI body grips. Other outfits make traps, but they are not the same. Case in point would be Duke #11 traps. They try to duplicate something, but lack the knowledge of what it takes to make them work. So is there someone out there with the knowledge to correctly duplicate them? Another word for it is institutional knowledge.

And as an aside, I am now cursed with the notion that if/when I find something I like.........I now feel compelled to load up on it. Here today......gone tomorrow. And no 2nd chance.

Does that mean, that there's no one holding a patent ?
So could it be made again if the Koren manufacture was contacted to make them again?

I just got a new Z-trap cage a month or so ago.
I ordered through Southern Snares, but if I recall correctly it drop shipped from Iowa.
So I assume it came directly from Z-traps.
I mean none of that is very helpful, but it sure seems they were active a couple months ago anyway.
