Severe clear, no smoke, frost this morning. It's time for another "small grins" thread. What makes you have small grins - feel good small things?

1. old, familiar tune on radio
2. happy, exuberant dog
3. smell of Hoppe's #9
4. wife in adjoining room singing with radio
5. taste of cold, sweet, water
6. email from old friend you haven't heard from for awhile
7. slight whiff of skunk in the air
8. muskrat lure
9. rod tip wiggling
10. sound of chukars chuckling

I like the blue Jay and chickadee while in the tree stand.

I've been really appreciating sunrises and sunsets lately. Always have but more than usual.

I saw my first flight of wild pigeons this morning. That made me happy.

The loving look of a grandchild

Chips and dip
Secret mountain streams
Charcoal grilling
Sincere compliments (both given and received)
A pelt fresh from the tannery in the mailbox

Riding around and looking at deer and turkeys tracks in food plots I planted just for them.

Walking into a trapping convention building getting a whiff of all those wonderful lure and bait odors only a trapper could love.

Sunrises and sunsets are the best! Lots of other things like cutting firewood with a brand new chain.

Seeing a wolf a few seconds behind a fawn pop out in front of me 20yds away, wolf pausing to look and grin at me before it carried on after its meal made me kinda grin. Mother natures ballet…goes on.

Here lately it’s hearing my granddaughter say, “Papa”
