I've felt a black cloud hanging over me since that opening day miss and it all disappeared last night. My brother in law drove 2 hours to come help me look for the bear I shot at opening day, so I sent him a text of the blood from the impact site right away. While I was following the blood trail he texted back and asked if the blood looked dark. By that point I had just found the bear so I texted him a picture of the dead bear and said it looked very very dark!

Shakeyjake, I used my Remington model 7600 .30-06 which is ny normal deer gun. Also shot it from my deer stand in the deer food plot. He was likely on his way to the bait, but I didn't have time to wait.

I didn't even think of using this hunt as a way to justify another gun. What a missed opportunity!
