Tell me about off grid chemical, composting and incinerating toilets. What do you think is the best for part time use. I am thinking about putting one in my wives shop. For me an out house would do.

permeant is outhouse, temporary is a 5 gallon bucket.

Friend of mine had a propane incinerating toilet on his houseboat, worked fine... nothing but ash afterwards,,, no, not the boat, lol

My Uncle had one of those in his barn. He called it the Destroylet.

Youd have to be careful what you ingest-it could blow up.

5 gallon bucket, quart of used oil, quart of water.
Oil floats, seals off the smell.

Cornfield or tree work for me
For the wife,,,,,. If she has water. Bootleg a septic.
Cheaper then a compost toilet

I just put some kitty litter in the bucket. If you get a luggage loo your uptown.

My wife is often ok with the extra tall bucket. Trash bags lined with kitty litter in bottom. If you want to throw it on brush pile and burn it later. Use an extra heavy paper bag liner . Something like flour or seed comes in.

Dry composting toilet. At least 2 or 3 commercial versions........basically a high tech 5 gallon bucket. But does keep #1 and #2 separate. #1 collects in plastic jug and is poured on the bushes. #2 gets mixed in peat moss or sawdust, dries out pdq, no odor.......is saved up for a week or two, is then dumped in the bushes or placed in trash.
