Son has a 4 wheeler 2020 honda rancher 420 es, cold starts, but after heat up you can turn it off and won't start back up just won't turn over. This happened a while back, he got stranded in the woods, I couldn't jump it I thought it was battery. The screen went dead and eventually it wouldnt even try to turn over. Next day my daughter hopped on started right up. After driving around same thing after heat up wouldn't start. I thought weak battery, so bought another today started right up.. ran it for a bit did the same thing. Sounds like it would like to turn over but doesn't but won't.. screen is still on this time. Any ideas or you guys or have anything like this happen.

I saw something like this on a YouTube channel with an old dirt bike. It was electrical. Something expands when it gets warm so it loses contact and won't restart. Once it gets cold and contracts, contact is made again and will start. Maybe this will help you, maybe not. Just an idea. I'm not an electrical guy so maybe someone else can chime in.

I just change a rectifier/ regulator on my 500 Suzuki last week. Positive terminal on the battery was getting hot. You couldn’t touch the rectifier, really hot. Quad backfired, battery wouldn’t hold a charge. Easy fix.

Electronic ignition? Sounds like the computer brain box that used to go bad back when it first came out.
