Do you once in a while have to butcher a beef in town? Do you carry three spares in case one gets dull in a knife fight. I have carried a pocket knife since before I was in high school and have never wished I had a couple spares ones along.

Not in the least here. A knife is a tool and tools come in different sizes. I carry at least two most times. I DON'T lend out my knives as most that can't bring themselves to carry one abuse them and I hate trying to use a dull knife or get it back with the tip broke off using it as a prying tool.

I have no problem with you carrying a dozen knives and a box of lighters, but it makes no sense to me. It still doesn't help now that you said what they were. If you think you need four, take eight along.
