Lespedeza aka bush clover. We have both native and non native invasive species. I can't ID which from that photo other than to say what it's not. It is not serica lespedeza as it grows with straight upright stems. And, is considered an invasive non-native plant. That one looks like the Korean variety.

It on Just an FYI to Anybody who might not be aware. Google lens has gotten very good at identifying plants and fungus for me lately. It used to be a little hit or miss but seems to have gotten really good, especially with food plot weed identification. Its only as good as those who take pictures and label them in the photo data section. The data base for Google is compiled by taking the photos that you or someone else has randomly taken and labeled. If you have given access to the pictures on your phone to the web, which most people have whether they realize it or not.

I remember when the ag extension folks were recommending Sericea lespedeza planting along edges for wildlife cover. Sort of like the idiots who recommended multiflora rose and kudzu for erosion control. Autumn Olive comes to mind as well. And don't forget Bradford pear.

It was a lot more widespread last year and I had the whole thing sprayed with crossbow and burned it all off this spring. There are a few patches, but there is no way I am mowing and picking it up. I will try crossbow on problem areas next year early in the summer.
