The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

I have about 10 gallons of Breakthrough left. I use mine for various things besides brass and firearm parts.

this is from Breakthrough
"Ultrasonic Cleaner Usage Instructions

BEFORE CLEANING, ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED. DO NOT SOAK FIREARM OR PARTS OVERNIGHT IN THIS SOLUTION.

Suggested dilution ratio for concentration is 1:5 (1 part solution, 5 parts water).

Disassemble the firearm according to manufacturers’ instructions.
If you observe loose contaminants remove them with a brush, wipe or other tool.
Once the parts are submerged, set your cleaner to the time and temperature (if applicable) to the manufacturers recommended settings. Cleaning times can vary, but the shortest
effective cleaning cycle is recommended. 5 – 15 min is a typical duration.
When the cleaning cycle is complete remove parts and rinse with warm water.
Dry thoroughly. Use compressed air if available to displace moisture.
Relubricate and protect moving parts with a protective coating of Breakthrough Clean Technologies® Battle Born High-Purity Oil, HP Pro or Battle Born Grease to the cleaned parts to prevent corrosion during storage. "

I don't know much about them. Do know that my mentor that serviced my dive equipment for years. Would tear my regulator down put the parts in ultrasonic cleaner. Didn't take long. Infact it was the first one I ever saw. Instead of just replacing parts like most service techs did. He cleaned things up only replaced parts as needed.
Thinking about that I'm not sure why their not used to clean carburetors we all talk about.
I guess I have seen the jeweler clean some rings for my wife.

I use a mild acid (lemon juice) and a bit of dish soap to cut grease.

they are used to clean carbs

I tore down a carb for an 86 cutlass in 96 and the instructor for the tech college took it to the tech college ran it in their ultrasonic cleaned and brought it bac the next day so I could rebuild it

it is labor time to do anything but slap a new ready to go carb on

100-140 and hour for a small engine shop and they are so swamped slapping new 100 dollar carbs on in 20 minutes that they don't look for any more work.

also if it gums up again in a couple months ,they are like you rebuilt it wrong , hard to tell a customer no you use crap gas

but if it is on the factory , shrug shoulders and put another new carb on

Gunshop near my son uses it for guns, don't know what they use but it cleans them up right quick, a friend of mine uses them for small engine carbs, he uses a hot liquid in them, says they come out cleaner than new.

how they work

they could be used with a number of solvents to break down the bonds of the oils or carbon while the cavitation happens

We use them here at work to clean hot melt adhesive spray nozzles. I believe we use mineral oil in them.
