I just had a phone call saying I won a Ruger Precision, 17 HMR in a raffle. I can't say I ever dreamed of owning one. I won a Savage 17HMR about 10-15 years ago and have never shot it. I am sure this one will get used the same amount.

Way to go.. It's still nice to win.
I have a 30-06 and a 12ga shotgun I won still sitting in the boxes. No need or reason to shoot them.
I have a Marlin 17 HMR I bought when they first came out. Love shooting squirrels with it.

Get yourself a raccoon caller and you'll find a love for them guns. Congrats on the win! We have more coyotes per sq mile then coon right around me, right now. Coons and skunks are on a big crash here. There is not much for some game here. No trees and brush means no squirrels or cotton tails, other then in my yard.

often , the store you would pick it up from will give you a cash equivalent off another gun/item in the store , not always but often
maybe there is something you want more than a 17hmr?

At this point in life there is very little I want in the way of guns. I always just bought them if I figured I needed something. The Grandkids will like it.

It is their fund raiser. $100 a ticket and they draw one a day every day in October. 31 chances to win guns, ammo, and gun safes.

One thing I wish for is..., if somebody has a few guns and " really" doesn't need the $$, gift them to a kid.

Dave I have three Grandkids in Bismarck that hunt and shoot quite a bit. The one just out of Minot is younger, but likes shooting and hunting. One of them will end up with it.
