beaverpeeler OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Oregon	For those of you that have commented on and have prayed for my son I thank you from the bottom of my heart and want to share some great news: It turned out to be a benign tumor rather than a cancerous chordoma! The surgeon and his team were in a state of shock after pathology reports came back. The head of the surgical team said he would have bet his house that it was a chordoma that they removed. In fact I was present when he saw the report for the first time and he about fell out of his chair. He actually blurted out "What the F_ _ _!!!!!!!" I made the comment that the Mexican side of his family had been praying to the Virgin of Guadelupe and other assorted saints for a miracle and now they're saying he needs to go to Mexico and give thanks for a miracle received. The surgeon told me flat out to not discount the notion that a miracle had indeed taken place! Pathology found that it is a benign "fibrous displacia" that looked and was situated just like a chordoma. There will be no need for further surgeries or radiation and he should be good as new in a few more months. And he's doing fine! I can tell you now that the mortality rate for chordomas is very high so we are indeed feeling blessed!!!! Our family wants to thank you all for your prayers and support. Indeed we feel it has been a blessed miracle! My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
