I tinker with game cams but have never used them for hunting.

Nothing like reading sign and hunting over it. No different than trapping.

Never had a camera never will.

We run usually 8 to a dozen cameras around home.
1 just for the entertainment of seeing what going on out there
2 see what bucks are out there
3 to see how active the bucks are
On our properties they really haven't help pattern mature bucks because they come through too randomly

When we go out west (which is our favorite hunt) it's all spot and stock with archery gear. No preseason scouting or cameras involved.

A camera just tells you what was there when you wasn’t there. LOL

Great wildlife tools many wildlife habits and traits would be unknown except for trailcams bernies pics of bears coming out of hibernation is an example I dont use them as habitat changes hunting pressure breeding cycles change weather changes wildlife patternsfrom day to day and seeing what was there doesnt mean much to me Several deer hunters i know quit hunting after they learn their buck that they had on camara all fall was shot someplace else

"Their" buck huh? that's nuts, lol

I use lots of cameras to scout for elk, but to be honest I don’t use any where we typically deer hunt. Once in a while dad would put one up just to see what was passing through.

I don't have 20 deer cameras.

I only have 14.

I'm looking for 1 of maybe 3 or 4 good'uns that I got pics of.

Just getting deer meat is not at all difficult in most parts of the country.

Consistently taking mature bucks is not that easy in the deep South.

What dragged this away from the burn pile? Should I sit up all night and hope see what it did it? Oh wait man uses tools I’ll put a camera on it. LOL

So who’s so blind they use a scope? So weak a compound or even a Xbow, recoil pad. LOL this could go on forever!


The last time I had yotes dragging a road killed deer off that I got on my cam.

I've only killed one buck I ever got a picture of. I run 20 cameras just for the pictures. Gave up trying to get the bucks on them.

Neither of my grandfathers hunted, so no, I don’t hunt like them. lol. And if they saw a deer track they would have been excited, if they even knew what they were looking at.


Also no bear hunting here east of the Mason Dixon line.


Heck, I’ve killed more deer this past week than my dad ever killed in his life. Lol

It sure was handy seeing what elk were working the wallows when the tag you have is for a unit at the far west end of the state. My buddy with the cell cams hunted the same season the year before and never connected but he hunted differently than I do. A cameras not going to get you anything but photos really.

we have a few cameras the boys like to play with them. have not used them for hunting this year yet.

I got a few out, but haven't hunted near them yet. Plan on it though, i should put new batteries in em.....
