Kind of how it went with me. Got my left hip replaced was actually back to point I could run if I want ed to. Although that wasn't pretty. Was just over two years out. Swung my leg out of bed one morning and oh no instant pain. Got in with doctor couple weeks later. He said we knew you would be back for other hip, just not this soon. They did one test just so insurance company would be happy. I scheduled in as soon as I could which was 3 months out of I recall correctly. So yes they get really backed up. This was before COVID and a lot of places are running more short handed now. Unless you are an emergency case some appointments here can be a year out. I know I had mine done as soon as I could and don't regret it one bit. Been pain free since.

Too busy, heck at the hospital here it’s knee day or hernia half days one day a week, but who wants a tired surgeon so maybe there’s a reason for that kind of schedule. I bet the pay is good.

The guy that did all my replacements is booked over 3 months ahead, He does a thousand per year, and does the revisions for the other doctors screw ups, guy is a machine. He does the hips before the knees, unless it's an injury if you got one bad joint you got two.....Most surgeons won't do both at the same time so get one done and get on the list, lol My doc did both hips and both knees at the same time 5 years apart, He said your tough enough and we need to get you back to work, lol
Hes the speedy lube of hip docs.
