I voted today and made sure the machine didn't mess it up. No Machine here for early. Went into an envelope and then sealed. Didn't watch where they put it. Not worried.

I haven't been home on election day since 1998, it's nice to have options

My wife and I always vote on Election day. For us I don't see the point of voting early.
In fact it might be detrimental.
Lots easier to cheat with mail in ballots and early voting than voting on Election day.
Besides that gives the opposition and idea how many votes they have to "find" and the time to do it.
If voting early is one way to get someone who doesn't usually vote to vote then it makes sense, other wise it won't make any difference.
My Ideal solution would be no mail in votes, no absentee ballots except certain exemptions, make Election day a national holiday, I.D. to vote, every voter to be marked at the pole.
I didn't mail mine in. It was at the town hall where voting takes place. It wasn't put in a machine. It was put in an envelope and then sealed. I want to believe it gets put in the machine on voting day.

Election Day should be a national holiday. I disagree. It would become just another pointless holiday that people would ignore the meaning for.

Got my vote sent off in the mail. Make it easier for all the folks that want to vote in person on Election Day. Might even give some folks a ride there.

When i was about 10 years old, my grandfather took me with him to vote. He told me to always vote straight Republican because the Democrats want to give away the our country. He was prophetic.
Wife and I voted absentee with paper ballots sealed in envelopes that are tracked at the board of elections. I delivered our ballots. Our votes have been counted.
We live in a rural county. Every year in this county all of the Republican candidates win by at least a 2-1 margin. This is especially true in a presidential election year. This year, we realistically expect a 3-1 or higher victory for the Republicans. The clerk of courts is a democrat because nobody else wants that thankless and tedious job.
In the state of Ohio, many Republican candidates usually win. Ohio is a red state.

You have to be soft in the mind to vote for a demonrat all they do is destroy this country. What if I am a government employee? I like to vote for more pay and benefits and less work.

That is the common American mindset. Very few people are voting to stop all this deficit spending.

That is the common American mindset. Very few people are voting to stop all this deficit spending. And exactly who would we vote for in this coming election to accomplish that?
