I'm not sure why this vid of hers popped up in my Youtube feed tonight. I think I've only watched one or two of her shooting videos and its been over a year.

I'm sort of surprised that she and her dad were surprised that a .410 slug has more velocity than either of the .45 pistols. A 2 3/4 inch (or were .410 shotgun slugs always in 3 inch shells?) still packs more powder than any .45 revolver brass case.

I worked with an older guy one summer at the BSA council's summer camp back in the mid-1980s when I was a young pup Field Sports Director. This older guy was from southwest MN and loved using a .410 slug gun to hunt deer in basically a blind situation. He said it was much flatter shooting than the old flying wheel weight of the pre-saboted 12 gauge slugs. If I remember correctly, the brain trust in St. Paul had outlawed .410 slugs for deer hunting by the time "Vince" and I worked with each other. Not enough foot pounds of energy to their lliking, although Vince put down a good number of deer with it.

410 shells come in 2 1/2" or 3" I have never seen a 2 3/4" 410 shell. Slug do come in both 2 1/2 and 3"

She’s a pleasure and inspirational young woman and I believe she will make a career out it.

6 inch barrel and 26 inch barrel find a Taurus judge and I bet that slug gets way more pathetic , that might be where they have seen it before in pistol videos

45 LC is also not loaded hot as you put it in 105 year old guns it can be loaded hotter and with the right powder you would likely get very close to the 410 slug

WI also prohibited the 410 slug at some point in the 80s or 90s
although we were discussing in WI anything that works is now legal as long as it is legal in your township to hut deer

now the only restriction is you can't hunt migratory game with a shotgun larger than 10ga no minimum

.410's were just made Deer legal in Mo.
