What if any goals do you have for this trapping season?

Mine is to catch a coyote in a snare
Would be easy enough on a fence crossing but have yet to find a good one. Need to figure out how to catch one on a 2 track through a pasture

I have had health issues this year that I thought was going to prevent me from trapping. I have pulled through and have got out there. No goal in particular just to enjoy the time trapping that I thought I was not going to have.

To enjoy the great outdoors, watch some sun rises and target a few critter's probably give most of the fur to our tanned fur project.A few coyotes,1 to 2 bobcats if it doesn't snow too much,a couple marten.A mink or two a couple of muskrats and maybe a dozen ermine.

Learn from last years mistakes is always at the top of the list. Other than that, enjoy being able to still run the line with my dad.

… kill more cats than last year…. Got coyotes knocked down good past few years so the prey and cat pops should be high

Insert profound nonsense here

Being new to trapping, my big goal this year was to get my first fox. I've already accomplished that so now my goal is to have some fun with this. Maybe catch a coyote too. Be fun to see how many fox I'll be able to pull this year.

I'm hoping for 500 rats. I would like to catch a few K9s, and a few weasels but the rats are the main goal.

Cats, coyotes, coon, and mink, those are what I am pursuing.
Also will keep running some weasel boxes, still trying for my first weasel.

Well I broke my arm 2 days ago. I’m hoping it’s healed by Christmas. My ADC work doesn’t really start till after deer season. So my goal is to heal up enough to set traps. If you’ve ever tried to put in a set one handed it’s almost not worth the effort.

Catch Goals
75 to 100 coyotes
10 bobcat

Hope it heals up fast and you are good to go

Good luck to all of you

I hope I stay healthy, get to enjoy sunrises and sets and have a good time as well. Guess I took those for granted which now I am thinking I should not wink

2 wolfs
8 wolverine
40 mink
10 otter
50 lynx
5 marten
I already sort of know i wont get close to my mink goal. But never know, the hardest part is getting out and start trapping. Once I get started I should be able to knock a chunk out of them goals. If i can get a line out by Police Cabin Lake after new Years should be able to fly past the wolverine goal. But last year i only got 2 wolverine.

100 beavers
100 coon
100 rats
And after expenses and paying myself $3 an hour I would like to make $100

To reach as many people as I can who are interested in trapping or have questions about trapping in a positivie way to inclue the LDWF & LTAHA trapping events, the annual veterans trapping event and anyone I come in contact while trapping this year. Catching critters and putting up fur is the easy part. Being a positive influence on people is the challange.

My goal is the same every year, take someone who doesn't trap. I'm not got enough to make catch goals.

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

With the prices rising nicely and good avgs being paid I may open up some more marten lines this winter that havent been trapped in a few seasons.
But it depends on how the catch ratios look after a couple weeks, the weather this winter and if my old carcass holds up.
I have plenty of bait if everything else indicated a go.

Actually target beaver instead of just once in a while. I am generally so worn out from coyotes and cats that I never really get around to beaver. That's going to change this year.
