Not worried about age for me to harvest him. I sure would if given the chance. I'm just wondering if the young one with similar traits was actually him since I saw it at least 3 years ago..
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

I wonder if something happened to him to damage the skull or base of his antler when he was younger? Bucks with "character" like that are cool. I shot one about 5 years ago that I was after that had about 6 "stickers" off one main beam. He was a 10 point plus the 1.5-3 inch stickers and was really cool. Long story short, we had a little show down and he RAN across the opening and I connected. I about cried when I walked up to him and that side of the main beam was broken off just about in the middle. Had I seen that, I would have let him go.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I've been trying. He is right in front of my stand there, but the wind is wrong now for me to sit in that one right now.

I agree with others on the 3.5. He's swelled up in the neck but has little muscle structure to shoulders and rump. His back still has the upward arch, not that deep saddle look of an old deer. Brisket doesn't sag down and his rump angles way down from hips to tail. If he's a trophy to you that's all that matters.

I have seen guys talking about antlers messed up on one side are usually related to a previous injury to the hind quarter on opposite side.

Minimum 4.5 cause his neck meets his chest completely at the bottom. Leastwise around here 3.5's neck doesn't do that.

A few years ago, I had a buck hanging around my place prior to the season opener. He had two long spikes one on each side of his head; no points just the two spikes. They had to be close to 18 inches. Reminded me of a spike bull elk. Planned to shoot him if I saw him once the season opened. But, never saw him after that.
