Is it worth it to shop around for home auto and business. I've had one small claim in 17 years with State Farm and they just went up on me $19 per month. Now 19 bucks isn't going to bankrupt me. But darn, why do the good folk have to pay for the screw ups of others?
So the question is. Is it good to shop around? Also, is it good to have just one insurance company for all?
Thanks for your help.

after 30 years with state farm , they told me effective 11/1/2024 they were not renewing 2 of my 6 vehicles.
these are liability only vehicles
they paid out for 3 fairly minor claims in the last 5 years all 3 of them kids , 2 of the 3 were abut to fall off the 5 year list , they would not cover those any more even after appeals
it was one of the kids cars and my wife's expedition. they stated that they were Modernizing the policies
so as of today after 30 years I am no longer a State farm customer
I was just paying the bill , didn't want to look for new insurance
but
they drove me away as a customer and what I went to was very competitive it might even be saving a few dollars.
I guess with some luck my State Farm agents Daughter sells insurance as an independent broker so her company sold us coverage for 6 vehicles and the house and an umbrella liability.
so State farm you drove away a 30 year customer that never in 24 years of owning a house filed a single claim.
seems like you were way ahead in dollars collected for dollars paid out.
