My oldest boy (9) got his first deer!! My 7 year old is up next, he can pull more back than his older brother.
They drew straws and greyson got the first hunt and we didn’t see anythin, Dawson my oldest got the second sit of the year and connected, went about 110 yards. Cought the liver and a little guts but all was good. Made some heavy arrows with 100 grain inserts and 150 grain 2 blade heads. 34 pounds and it completely passed thru both sides with about 4 inches of fletching left inside. His brother found all the blood not(a lot) and led us to it.

Geez that is young! That is fantastic. We had to wait until 12 when I was a kid.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Outstanding. I love seeing the youngster's shooting vertical bows and getting it done. Congratulations to the youngster and great job by you teaching them right.

Nice!

I may be the oddball, but I made mine wait/ work their way up.
Started out with squirrels, etc at 7 or 8.
Turkeys at 10 ish, deer at 11 or 12.

They tagged along and saw deer killed before hunting them themselves.
Built anticipation. And I got help dragging, lol

Thanks for all the replies, he likes reading them. I waited until I was 12 also but always sat with my dad since I was like 5. I’ll be honest I wish I had the set up they have when I was little

They sat with me the last 2 years and watched me shoot some deer and track and find deer.

I gave them goals to meet for weight to pull back and accuracy and a couple rules. No youth hunts in our family and no crossbows like there friends at this age and they have to also do morning hunts not just evening lol
