not that they are checking on you , it is just so that they can know the clerk actually looked at your ID

I wont buy where they I.D for ammo. Government wants to know all about you. They have ways I'm sure. But I will make it as hard as possible for them.
Same goes for tobacco. I'll give my birthday, but nothing else. Sometimes not even then. I have places that don't asked for either product.

There has been several times I have been asked for ID for various products.

Viewing.the ID , fine. Scanning or recording the info on my ID , a hard NO. There is now several businesses I will not spend any my money anymore because of this. Certain exceptions made for things like an FFL holder to verify information on a 4473 form or law enforcement purposes.

If a cashier tells me it not their fault and company policy , I politely tell them it is my policy to terminate the sale and let the cashier inform corporate/managers that they have lost a sale and customer for ever because they treat their cashiers like a 5 year old.

They do it in this state for booze just a verification the clerk checked ID calm down.

They sure due. That is why they track cell phones.

I'm 67. They need to look at an ID to verify I'm old enough? I also have had to show them ID to buy cold medicine in the past. Irritating but I have just laughed it off. This was different . He recorded my DL number on an electronic device. Why does Walmart want to keep track of who buys ammunition? Who is the information passed on to? I won't be buying ammunition there from now on.

We have an FBI check for ammo now. Ridiculous. Sometimes takes days and always a fee whether okayed or not.
Most NYers I know go to PA and buy ammo and walk out.

I was asked for my phone no. and ID whilst buying sandpaper belts for my work sharp sharpener, last year in Sportsmans Warehouse.

I told the kid to stick them up his nose.


He said they had to for dangerous products.

I told him that's too much commie nonsense for me, stick them up your nose.

He says , well...I can just use my number.

So I bought them. But Sportsmans can eat a bag of ducks. I haven't been back.

and they don't trust their clerks , most any place that cards like that for ammo will also be carding everyone and entering your DOB in the register for beer as well.
