I listened to most of that podcast yesterday and enjoyed it. I was stationed at Whiteman AFB for a couple years. There was a reserve unit that flew A-10's from there. The Warthog name is fitting to say the least! lol

The A10 is one of the planes that my nephew Brodie flew while in the Air Force. I have a shell on top of my desk from the big gun!

Saw a couple of them fly over a month or so aho, and I thought we mothballed them?

I don't know, death by BRRRT sounds like a fun way to go.
Our Su-25/39's are good machines but they lack the awesomeness of the Warthog.

the A10 is very cool ,I think we are going to see a LOT more Sky Wardens making service in the next few years

close air support being huge , the Sky Warden is a much lower cost , higher hours of service air craft , while it carries less payload it can land on about any runway surface and refuel and re-arm

making the potential for forward operating bases to also have their own air support system

It's impressive to watch them on video, even more impressive watching them for real. Gotta love that brraaaaapp.

We had them at Eielson AFB in AK when I was there. The only problems we had to deal with were hung flares. We'd have to respond about once a month or so to take care of that problem. I heard them firing that awesome gun a number of times.

My Deer hunting cabin is just south of Ft L Wood, and I hear them firing all the time, or did, now that they've scrapped them.
