Hi Everyone! Been several years since I trapped, couple questions for you guys:
My traps are lightly rusted, been stored inside, for trap prep, can I boil them, dry, dye them, dry and set traps or do i need to wax them? Mostly mbs and Bridger 1.5s.
Second question, I've got all these bottles of lure, no longer have labels, several years old, can I use them in dirtholes and pockets or do you think I need to buy fresh stuff?

If you can guess what they are, age doesn't figure into it.

Since they are rusted it is probably best to dye and wax, once the rust is off you only need to wax. As for the lure, I would go ahead and use it. Canine lure will dang near catch any species. I would probably buy a bottle or so just so I knew what I was using.

I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Welcome back to the fold. I would dye and wax. Use the lures as long as you have an idea what they are for, such as canine. Good luck and have fun

I buy some lure and found it is even better after sitting on the shelf for a year. Never know your mystery lure may be the sought after silver bullet LOL. As far as trap prep I would wax them after dying as it will help protect your investment.
