Perfectly healthy. Rutting hard and water here has been scarce. They are drinking about 75 -100 gallons a week. Had this buck at 18 yards last night with no clear shot. He was snort wheezing at another buck and strutting proud

They learn and adapt quick. I have my bathroom toilets set up on their own water system and catch and hold water anyway I can. I bought a cheap 1800 gal swimming pool and filled it up just for extra in case. Its only 50 ft from my back door and I had been seeing tracks around it where they have been drinking. Wife and I both thought they might get in it and cut it and cause it to leak, but they didn't. The other morning I went out to turn the chickens out and there was 6 does getting a drink. I put it up for the winter now.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they get in there. I bought the year end close out of these little pools to supplement a water sources in back field. I've had problems all summer and fall with them walking in it and laying down and crushing the sides.

Besides WI screwing the pooch on the whole CWD thing, we've had two episodes of EHD and ??? One year found over 30 carcasses while looking for mushrooms. 3 years go a lot just vanished. Didn't find carcasses but fields that should have 4 to 12 deer a night are blank.

After the CWD plandemic, the earn-a-buck , and all the god forsaken doe slaughter seasons we've had our deer herd desamated. The last 24 years has been a focus of making my farm a deer paradise. Areas we don't walk in the woods from May to April, water tanks, enhanced cover, wintering food crops, NO DOES or Young deer shot. Its a little way to put back for all I have been blessed with

Had them in my yard just about every day and night. Now, that rifle season's open they seem to have disappeared. Still catching some on the cameras around 3AM.

When us older people say, "Enjoy them while they're young." We are talking about our hips and knees, not our kids.
