When I was 19, I did a guy in Laos with a rifle shot at a thousand yards in high wind. Maybe eight or even ten guys in the world could have made that shot.

Afraid I am a bit old school, that’s a Shiloh sharps in 50/90 and I used to shoot it with open sights but nowadays I can barely see a 1000 yards without a scope, it’s amazing just how easy it is to hit a man size target even at a 1000 yards scope or iron sights a few years ago I had some non shooters that after a little instruction were regularly hitting that man size target which thrilled them and turned them into if not shooters then not anti gun people




My dad shot this in WW2 and from what the guys he served with said he did very well with it, me I have never been able to do better the a two foot group at a thousand or so at best, I do really hate that scope though, after every shot you need to remember to pull it back into position and I am always afraid I am going to break it as it just feels fragile to me and from what I have read it’s easy to break so I have to hand it to those guys like my dad who carried one and used it under combat conditions

Nightlife, what is the bottom rifle? I originally thought it was on 03A4 but it has sights. The wood looks like a K98 with a Unertl scope added. VERY cool rifle whatever it is.

I got a big fancy scope in the cabinet that doesn’t have a rifle to go to prom with.

I hear a 7 PRC calling.

Don’t “need” one. But it’s been a spell since I’ve had a “big” gun.

I shot a "Best of the West" rifle in 6.5 and 7mm PRC a couple of weeks ago. Both rifles had 5-20x50 Huskemaw scopes and 780 yard shots were consistent. That said, I hunted with my P64 M70 in 280 and told the guide 400 yards was my max.
