High 20's tonight, first time to fire up the stove in 2 weeks....Big whitetail bucks starting to kick it in gear finally.

Start setting snares Dec.1st, gonna try some mink snaring.

I show 8 for the low tonight. It is 14 now and dropping. I see clear sky to the west so we may get colder then 8.

That hot wood burner looks like the spot to be at Mike. These fur prices sure can take the wind out of a guys sail. But what else can a trapper/hunter do? lol
Got an icy covering on the ground this am, deer season is opening tomorrow. Had a big eight pointer just stand and watch me get out of my truck yesterday...never flinched at 50 yards.
I am taking my time checking traps this morning no more rushing around. Supposed to warm up in a couple days but it will be sloppy out.

You bet Mike, love wood heat. That dry heat really warms things like walls, stone and even your bones, Lol....
Yep, pretty much all we can do is enjoy trapping for the thrill of it...Resigned myself to trap for the experience a while back because we sure ain't getting rich these days, besides we need some good memories to think back on when we can't physically do it anymore.

Hope you have a safe trap check in those icey conditions, and make a nice catch....Watch out for those rutting bucks, they can get crazy aggressive as you know....Best to ya!
