Mostly hardware. Chain, swivels, quick links. That trap adjusting tool I’ve been meaning to get, j hook tool, more coon grabbers ; a different flavor ( I like them cause I can set them up the night before), the lure Savell recommended for grey fox, heavy duty drags as recommended by Flipper56 because I’m having a hard time staking in a certain area (gonna have to study on these) blades for my deer hunting knife, and a free gift DVD.

That type of drag works great. In the right kind of cover. Need brush, saplings etc not big trees or pastures. if there is plenty of thick brush to hang up on critters wont go far. You can also pre hook them. use some tie wire to tie the drag on sapling or whatever. I use a lot of drags when I can. Not a good idea everywhere though. I like about ten feet of chain so the drag stays on the ground good till it hangs up. Makes tracking the drag marks easier when you need to.

Animals dont solve problems very well. Trap grabs them and the they like to run into cover. Drag catchs and they go in a circle getting more and more tangled. Heard many complain about time to find a catch. Used in the right cover the trouble with drags is getting the critter out of the brush and untangled, not finding the catch. Grab the chain you hooked on one of your drags. hold the end of the chain down low like it will be when the animal drags it. Drag it a bit then go look at the sign it leaves. They are a good tool if you use your head a little.

what Danny said, make sure to drag it from the height the animal is gonna be dragging it from.

Thanks! Think I actually have a bottle of that... somewhere.

On drags... I've gone to using them almost exclusively.

I just buy the cheap ones though.

And I pre-hook every one.... just wrap it around a tree, and hook the chain. No pounding stakes in, and the critter is right where you want him to be.....

This is good info. I spend more time struggling with stakes and then fighting the stupid end of the cable that sticks up. I would be a lot less tired if I did things a bit different. I think I’m gonna wire off my DP’s too instead of pounding cable stakes…

CABLE off your DPs instead of wiring them... Just make a cable with a large loop at one end... wrap it around the tree, and slip your DP through the loop and you're ready to go.

No, I never bury drags... just wrap em around the tree, and wrap the chain around the hooks a few times... and go....
